Ghana’s music scene continues to make waves on the global stage as several of the nation’s top talents have been submitted for Grammy Awards consideration across major categories, reflecting the growing influence and diversity of Ghanaian sounds in the global music landscape.
Leading the pack is M.anifest, whose acclaimed project “New Road and Guava Trees” has been submitted for Best Global Music Album, alongside his soulful collaboration “Wine and Blues” featuring Arathejay, which is up for Best African Music Performance.
Gyakie also represents Ghana in multiple categories, including Best Global Album for her project “After Midnight,” Best Global Music Performance and Best Music Video for “Sankofa,” and Best African Music Performance for her smooth collaboration with 6lack, “Damn U.”
Black Sherif, one of Ghana’s most prominent exports, earned consideration for Best Global Music Album with “IRON BOY” and Best African Music Performance for “So It Goes.” His submissions reflect his continued rise as a genre-blending storyteller with international appeal.
Dancehall heavyweight Shatta Wale joins the list with his gritty street anthem “Street Crown” under Best African Music Performance, while Epixode is also in contention in the same category with “Chooboi.”
Afrofusion star Moliy rounds off Ghana’s submissions in grand style, earning consideration for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year with “Shake It to the Max (Remix),” marking a major moment for female representation from Ghana on the global stage.
The submissions showcase the rich spectrum of Ghanaian artistry, from soulful highlife fusions and Afrobeats rhythms to global pop and dancehall influences. As the Recording Academy continues to recognize the expanding soundscape of African music, Ghana’s presence this year signals a new chapter of global recognition and pride for its creative industry.
If any of these submissions go on to earn nominations, Ghana could see one of its strongest Grammy showings yet, proof that the country’s artists are not just participating in the global conversation but helping define it.
